2. This is a photo of the shooter from his Instagram account, closed down by IG. pic.twitter.com/NBaeZ9thTv
— James Gunn (@JamesGunn) February 15, 20183. This first photo is a photo going around, claiming to be the shooter. It is not. It's a Facebook user who often posts Communist memes. The second two photos ARE the shooter, obviously a different guy. pic.twitter.com/Agfu4XA7N9
4. Someone with the shooter's name had been posting on YouTube the past few years, and it's probably the shooter. On a video titled “Antifa Gun Club” the account commented “Im going watch them sheep fall fuck antifa i wish to kill as many as i can.”
— James Gunn (@JamesGunn) February 15, 20185. The YouTube poster also lauded Elliot Rodger, the gunman who killed seven people at UCSB in 2014, considered a hero of the extreme men's rights movement by posting "Elliot Rodger will not be forgotten."
6. There are also right-wing sites claiming the shooter was an Islamic sympathizer who said "allahu Akbar!" This is true, he said it in another Instagram post, mocking Muslims. pic.twitter.com/TT6TvfGf0f
7. Whatever the case, the right wing bots are out spreading disinformation right now as fast as they can. Beware, and spread the truth.
