De Broadcast Film Critics Association heeft de nominaties van de 26e Critics Choice Awards bekendgemaakt. David Finchers Mank kreeg in de filmcategorieën met twaalf stuks de meeste nominaties, gevolgd door Lee Isaac Chungs Minari met tien. Hoewel de BFCA geen leden gemeen heeft met de Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences worden de Critics Choice Awards als een belangrijke voorbode van de Oscars beschouwd. De voorbije tien jaar gingen vijf winnaars van de Critics Choice Award voor Beste Film ook met de Oscar voor Beste Film aan de haal, namelijk The Artist, Argo, 12 Years a Slave, Spotlight en The Shape of Water. Naast Mank en Minari dingen ook Da 5 Bloods, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, News of the World, Nomadland, One Night in Miami, Promising Young Woman, Sound of Metal en The Trial of the Chicago 7 mee naar de Critics Choice Award voor Beste Film. Sound of Metal, een productie van het Belgische Caviar, werd ook genomineerd voor Beste Acteur (Riz Ahmed), Beste Acteur in een Bijrol (Paul Raci), Beste Originele Scenario (Darius en Abraham Marder) en Beste Montage (Mikkel E. G. Nielsen).
