Voor zijn derde film Gretel & Hansel maakte regisseur Oz Perkins (The Blackcoat's Daughter, I'm the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House) een horrorversie van Hans en Grietje. De cast bestaat uit It-actrice Sophia Lillis als Gretel, nieuwkomer Samuel Leakey als Hansel en Alice Krige als de boze heks. Gretel & Hansel loopt vanaf 29 januari in de Belgische bioscoop.
